Since Miles&More introduced dynamic pricing, some really nice sweet spots have emerged, which can even be considered far more attractive than the “Mileage Bargains” used to be. One of these interesting options is Lufthansa‘s flight to Riyadh. Currently, you can get a business class seat to Saudi Arabia and back for as little as 23,016 miles + €503. The cheapest prices are available from Zagreb and Ljubljana. Similar prices are also available from Athens, but the availability is much worse, and the detour of flying from Athens to Germany and then to Saudi Arabia is a bit ridiculous.

We were able to find availability in the following months:

The availability differs a bit depending on the city of departure. You can also book these flights as one-way tickets for half the price.
The prices we mentioned were for the Basic fare. The surcharge for the Flex fare varies by city, but is roughly 65% more miles. Flex allows you to cancel the flights free of charge. With Basic Plus you’d have to pay a hefty €250 fee. Basic does not allow cancellations, but you can rebook the tickets for that same €250 fee.
You would usually fly to Frankfurt or Munich first, and then continue to Riyadh on an Airbus A350 (if flying via Munich) or an Airbus A330 (if flying via Frankfurt). Usually, the availability is higher via Munich. In both cases, you’ll be flying in Lufthansa’s older business class seats
Generally, Travel-Dealz writers and readers are not big fans of the Lufthansa business class, even though it is definitely not bad. One reason for that is that the service is too inconsistent: From extremely friendly and quick to unfriendly and slow – everything is possible with Lufthansa, even in business class. Regarding the seats, they are mostly fine, though not really on-par with the competition anymore. That’s why the airline is now slowly installing their new Allegris seats.
